Sid M. Tucker, DDS


Biography

Dr. Sid Tucker graduated at the top of his class from SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. During his pre-doctoral studies, he was awarded the Northeastern Society of Periodontists Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Periodontics, The International Congress of Oral Implantologists Pre-Doctoral Achievement Award, and both the Tucker and Barrett Scholarship for academic excellence.

Dr. Sid Tucker attended Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery for his post-doctoral periodontal training, where he earned a certification in Periodontology and a Masters of Science Degree for his research on systemic complications due to periodontal disease. During his fellowship at Columbia University, he was involved in the placement of implants for patients with very complex dental implant cases and was also a Clinical Instructor in Columbia University’s Dental Implant Program.

Dr. Tucker has published numerous articles on atherosclerosis and diabetes and how they are affected by periodontal disease. He has also presented this research at various meetings, including at the prestigious International Association of Dental Research seminar in Goetenberg, Sweden.

A past president of the Rockland County Dental Society, Dr. Tucker is currently the Rockland County representative for the Ninth District Dental Association. He is also a member of many other dental organizations such as the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the Academy of Osseointegration and the International Congress of Implant Dentistry.
